Some people with schizophrenia experience hallucinations, seeing or hearing things that aren't really there and cannon distinguish what is real and what is not.
The exact causes are not yet known, but are believed to be biological, sometimes involving genetic factors.Schizophrenia is not multiple or "split" personality.
