Champions for a Drug-Free Kentucky

Champions was initiated by former Governor Martha Layne Collins to rally the citizens of Kentucky to focus efforts on effective solutions and prevention of drug and alcohol abuse.
The mission of Champions for a Drug-Free Kentucky is to mobilize and empower Kentucky communities to address their own alcohol and drug problems. This is accomplished by:
1. Recruiting the involvement of key community leaders in cooperatve group efforts. 2. Providing ongoing training opportunities for them on alcohol and drug issues.
3. Providing them with the services of a prevention professional who will serve as an active member of each group and provide ongoing guidance and consultation. 4. Providing mini-grants to each region to help fund projects.
