Family Home Providers

Family Home Providers are unique and special people because they are willing to open their hearts and their homes to provide adult foster care for adults with mental retardation and dvelopmental disabilities. This is more than a day time commitment. In fact, many of our Family Home Providers have had the same individual living with them for several years.
Program Goals
Family Home Providers not only offer individuals a warm and loving home, they are also a key component in their ongoing educational process. This may include a few areas, or a wide range of skills depending on the individual(s) involved.
Some of the things a Family Home Provider assists with include:
__-- Physical assistance
__-- Residential training to help in learning communication skills, sensory motor skills, daily living and self-help skills, and help to build social skills
__-- Emotional support
__-- Provide or arrange for transportation to services, activities, and medical appointments as needed

__-- Assistance with daily living such as, but not limited to, ambulation, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, bathing, meal planning and preparation, laundry, budgeting, and financial assistance, home care and cleaning

Family Home Providers provide individuals with disabilities the opportunity to learn new skills and to gain independence.
