Therapeutic Rehabiliation Program
| A Therapeutic Rehabilitation Program (TRP) is a goal-oriented day treatment program for adults (18 years and up) with a chronic mental illness. Trained, qualified staff are present to educate, facilitate, and support members. The goal is teach members skills that will allow them to function in the least restrictive environment possible. Membership and participation are voluntary - with treatment recommended but not mandated. | ||
| There are two TRP's, one in Hopkinsville, the other in Madisonville. They operate Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. | ||
| Each member in the TRP must first have an open chart the Pennyroyal Center. | ||
| __There is admission criterion for TRP which includes: | ||
| - 18-years
of age or older - Severe mental illness - Psychotic, Affective, Personality, Dissociative Disorders - Disorders due to general medical condition |

| __And at least one of the following: | ||
| - More
than 1 Psychiatric hospitalization in past year, or only one which lasted
longer than 13 years, - Three or more psychotic episodes in the past year which threatened their functioning in the community, - Symptoms of illness expected to last for a 2 year period, - Current duration of the illness is longer than 6 months with marked impairment for 2 or 3 major areas such as vocational, educational, social relations, independent living, self-care, community relations or negotiations. |
