What does it take to be a Foster Parent?

- Are genuinely concerned about the well being of children and families.
- Are aware of the crises, stresses, and social problems that result in __child abuse, neglect, truancy, running away, and behavior problems.
- Realize that family conflicts can become so severe that children must __be removed from their homes for their own safety and well being.
- Choose to become the substitute families for these children in need.
- Provide the food, clothing, shelter, love, stability, guidance, and __discipline that all children need.
- Work in partnership with mental health professionals, schools, and __others to provide a comprehensive treatment plan individualized for __each child.
- Do all these things knowing that the child may only be with them for a __short time.
- Believe that children are worthy of their best efforts, every day.
- Are committed to helping a child feel lovable, capable, worthwhile, and __responsible.
