

IMPACT is a statewide
program which helps coordinate services for children with severe emotional
disabilities. IMPACT's purpose is to find, create, coordinate, facilitate
and enhance the delivery of services that will enable a child with a severe
emotional disability to remain at home or within the community in lieu of
psychiatric hospitalization or other institutionalization.

About 3,000 young people in this region (about 5%) may possibly qualify
for the IMPACT program.
- Pennyroyal IMPACT serves eight counties in the Pennyroyal Region: Caldwell,
Christian, Crittenden, Hopkins, Lyon, Muhlenberg, Todd and Trigg.
- Due to limited resources, priority is given to children currently living
outside their homes, those at risk of being placed in a hospital or treatment
facility or those with a history of such placement.
