| The board holds that mental illness and the disease of substance abuse are treatable, and that persons with mental retardation can learn to live in the community as productive citizens. | ||||
| The Mission of the Pennyroyal Regional Mental Health-Mental Retardation Board, Inc. is to foster the common good and to improve the quality of life for the citizens of this community by providing an array of prevention and remedial services addressing mental illness, mental retardation, and substance abuse, and by providing case management and follow along services to minimize residual effects of the disability/handicap. | ||||

array of services addressing mental illness, mental retardation, and substance
abuse shall be available to every citizen of the region. ---Based upon client need, services are made available to every citizen, even those unable to pay the full-cost of such service. ---Services are provided by appropriately credentialed professionals. ---Services are provided at a reasonable cost. ---Services should meet or exceed the standards for licensure as required by Kentucky statutes. ---The Boards discretionary resources shall be used to deliver services to clients having the most immediate and serious need in the areas of mental illness, mental retardation, and substance abuse. ---The Board will promote cooperation among service and consumer organizations both in the area of planning and in the area of service delivery. ---The Board will develop and maintain a plan detailing clinical and support services needed to address the identified needs in the area of mental illness, mental retardation, and substance abuse. |
